Sandy’s Story

Sandy W. Smith has served as Associate Pastor of Family Pentecostal Church of God for seven years. An ordained minister since 1994, he also spent 19 years teaching Sunday school. His heart for ministry is simple: to serve Jesus Christ wherever God leads him and help others grow in their faith.

Born in Denver, Colorado, Sandy grew up in Michigan and graduated from Vandercook Lake High School in 1972. He earned a degree in culinary arts and worked as a chef for 41 years. He moved to Oregon in 1983 and married his wife in 1995. He is a proud father, grandfather of three, and great-grandfather of two.

Outside the church, Sandy enjoys fishing, duck hunting, and time with his two dogs—and a squirrel. He hopes everyone who visits Family Pentecostal Church of God feels welcome and encouraged to become the person God has called them to be.
